Staggered Wheels

WHAT ARE STAGGERED WHEELS?

Staggered wheels have become one of the most popular fitments of today. Staggered wheels is a fitment that has wider rear wheels than the front wheels.  A good example of staggered wheel/rim fitments might be Front 20x9” and Rear 20x10” wheels. On some vehicles you will find wheels in the rear that are both wider and sometimes larger in diameter than the front wheels.

CAN I HAVE STAGGERED WHEELS ON AWD or JUST 2 W/D VEHICLES?

Generally Yes! Most (AWD) cars of today can have staggered wheels as long as the diameter of the wheels/tires are the same from front to rear so they roll at the same speeds. If you have a tire that is “say” ½’ taller on the rear then the wheels will roll at different speeds and you can seriously damage your transmission/transfer case. Even though AWD vehicles have been engineered to perform at their best performance with the same size front to rear wheels, we all know just how great a staggered wheel setup looks and feels. Staggered wheels have become more and more popular and available for many high performance sports cars and SUV’s such as the BMW, Porsche, Audi, Mustang, Camaro and many others.
Most vehicles computer systems can adjust for the small variance in rolling diameter between the front and wheel tires and usually does not cause any harm to the vehicle.

CAN ALL VEHICLES HAVE STAGGERED WHEELS?

Some vehicles are designed so that staggered wheels would not fit without sometimes major modifications that may or may not require wide body kits, Fender rolling, stretched tires, Camber Adjustments, Lowering kits.
